Desert Hockey Development (DHD) held another free kids hockey clinic at Bonsall Park in Glendale, AZ on Saturday, February 8.
We had some kids returning from our first clinic, getting repeat business is encouraging for any new enterprise. Seven brand new kids showed up this week, six of whom were residents of Glendale.
In short, DHD is gratified that our idea looks like it has a great chance to succeed. We hope to, sooner rather than later, see more kids playing hockey in their driveways, streets, cul-de-sacs, inline rinks and ice rinks all over Arizona.
We discovered that a LOT of kids want to try their hand at goaltending. So, at our next clinic (Saturday, February 22) we’ll be suiting up anybody interested in goaltending for instruction from our Head Goalie Coach. They won’t go through a full goalie clinic (yet), but they’ll learn the basics and have a great idea what it’s like to be a hockey goalie.
We were glad to see the returning kids maintained their skills and managed to get better this time. We hope to be able to help them continue to grow in the sport of hockey and help them take it as far as they with to go with it.
We all had a great time playing hockey and having some hot dogs in the beautiful, sunny weather.
