Desert Hockey Development

Dedicated to building youth hockey in Arizona

Here To Stay Celebration – September 21

Jet in the park
Jet in the park

While the Coyotes are schooling the Sharks in a preseason game in San Jose on September 21, you and yours should join us for FREE hilarity and FREE hockey and FREE parking in Glendale (59th Avenue and Bethany Home, 7 pm-10 pm).

We’ll have the nets out and will get our game on. If you want to skate and not play hockey, there will be plenty of time for that, too. If you don’t want to skate but want to have a great time and play some street hockey (“ball” hockey for you Canadian types), we’ll be doing that too. You’re running out of excuses now, right?

Yeah, we’re even going to hire a ref to keep the goons in line. Anyone that dives will be branded with a “BROWN” nametag and mocked the rest of the day.

We’ll have some means of following the Coyotes game so you won’t miss out. You don’t need to be an expert, if you don’t have equipment come anyway, we’ll have extra equipment to lend and there will be plenty of helpful people around to help you get up to speed.

We will celebrate the Coyotes saga ending the way it should, with the Coyotes sticking around for the foreseeable future. We’ll be blabbing about our plans for building interest in hockey in Arizona, but not to an annoying extent.

If you have any extra inline or ice hockey equipment laying around the attic or basement, we’d love to take it off your hands and add it to our loaner arsenal so we can get more people addicted to our sport.

Beer will be involved and maybe even some hot dog type food. No Arizona Republic reporters will be in the vicinity. You are out of excuses, Buster.

The event is FREE. We’re renting the rink and bringing as much equipment as we can muster. We’ll have a keg of beer and a ramada to hang around in while drinking said beer until it runs out. Hockey will be talked, even Yandle trade discussion will be tolerated. Politics should not be discussed because WE DON’T HAVE TO ANYMORE.

You can bring yourself and whatever soft drinks you want to chug. If you bring enough to share, great! If somebody brings and fires up a grill to burn some hot dogs and/or burgers, who’s going to complain? NOT US!

So, block out 7-10 pm on Saturday, September 21 for this deal. It promises to be a lot of fun, bring your kids if you have them. Meet us at the rink at Bonsall Park North, on the north side of Bethany Home Road at the intersection of 59th Avenue in Glendale. Click here for a link to the park info on the Glendale site.

Do us a favor and fill in the form below so we can keep you posted on what the scoop is.
