Glendale First! was the political action committee instrumental in retaining the Coyotes in Glendale.
This is the first major fundraising effort by Desert Hockey Development (DHD). We’re running this first tournament in conjunction with Glendale First! because of that organization’s education efforts that helped keep the Coyotes in Glendale.
We need players, sponsors, and volunteers to make this tournament a success. We’re very hopeful there will also be future Grow The Game Classics to benefit DHD.
Desert Hockey Development was created by a group of friends who were also the driving force behind the Glendale First! education efforts to inform Glendale residents of the benefits of keeping the Coyotes National Hockey League team as the anchor tenants in the city owned Jobing.com Arena.
This event will help support the continuing efforts of Glendale First! and will also support Desert Hockey Development’s continued FREE youth hockey clinics
- Benefits: Desert Hockey Development as a 501(c)(3) corporation is partnering with Glendale First! for this first tournament. Donations are tax deductible and 100% of proceeds will go to continue to educate residents of Glendale to the benefits of NHL hockey, and to further the mission of offering FREE hockey clinics for children.
- All Golfers receive: 18 holes of golf, various awards, free gifts, and lunch. Golfer receives 1 mulligan and 1 raffle ticket.
- Format: Shotgun Scramble Tournament.
- Games: Hole-in-one, Longest drive, Longest putt, Closest to the Pin challenge, MORE!
- Hole-In-One: Drive a new Ford Fusion home for an ace on hole 8, courtesy Sanderson Ford.
